Possible effects of the foam properties of the oil

The foam characteristics of a lubricant refer to the tendency of the lubricant to generate foam and the stability of the foam generated under specified conditions, and are used to indicate the foam resistance of the lubricant.

Foam resistance is an indicator of the quality of a lubricant. The foam in the lubricant can damage the lubricant film, increase the wear, and also make the lubrication system produce its family and affect the lubricant circulation. If foam is mixed in the hydraulic oil circulation system, it will deteriorate the lubrication condition, cause hydraulic instability, affect the accuracy of automatic control and operation, especially for the high pressure hydraulic system, it will lose the reliability of power transmission, produce abnormal vibration and noise, etc.

The foam characteristic measuring instrument is to measure the foam characteristic of engine lubricating oil, gear oil, hydraulic oil and other oils to evaluate the foam tendency and foam stability degree of lubricating oil.
