The surface tension meter is an instrument for measuring the surface tension of liquids. Its testing principle is based on the immersion method and the measurement method.
Specifically, a surface tension meter measures the tension near the surface of a liquid. During the measurement, the instrument first suspends a thin wire or sheet called a measuring ring over the surface of the liquid, causing the liquid to exert a force in a vertical direction on the ring. The distance between the ring and the liquid is then gradually pulled apart until the liquid separates the ring. The surface tension on the surface of the liquid can be calculated from the force required to pull the ring away from the liquid.
Calibration method for surface tension meter: with 2-point calibration: when the tension meter is not under any tension, set the reading of the meter to point 0, then use a weight equal to 80% of the range of the surface tension meter (e.g. if the tension meter range is 10 kg, use a weight of 8 kg) or a weight slightly larger than the tension of the material, hang it under the material being measured, then hang the other end of the material being measured, at which point the The tension applied is the weight of the weight. Now, using the surface tension meter to measure the tension of the material under test, it is sufficient to adjust the tension value of the meter to the same force as the weight of the weight, thus completing the calibration of the surface tension meter. If the calibration function of the surface tension meter is open, the customer can choose a good range when choosing a tension meter. If you have a small difference in the diameter of the material to be measured, and you are not particularly demanding in terms of accuracy, then you can have the manufacturer calibrate to the middle value of the material diameter.
The surface tension meter or surface tension of a liquid is formed by intermolecular forces. The magnitude of the tension value reflects the physical and chemical properties of the liquid and its material composition and is one of the most important indicators of product quality in the relevant industry.
